Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer

Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close
1/50

Thoughts: For me this book was about connections. Each character was looking for a way to connect to the people surrounding them and the people they've lost. It shows connection between tragedy and how easy it is to make connections to any number of people at any time. All you have to do is ring someone's door bell. I thought the book was wonderfully sad and the language was good and enjoyable. I'd definitely recommend it. It's 326 pages but there are a lot of pictures and one sentence pages that make for an interesting read.

Why I wanted to read it: I got the book for Christmas in 2010 but hadn't picked it up. I decided to read it immediately after seeing the trailer for the movie.
